While some Cereus peruvianus may start to spiral in time, this beauty does it dramatically, right from the start. The Spiral Peruvian Apple Cactus is an arborescent, or treelike growing, cactus that forms numerous tall, ascending, columnar stems that branch at the base in a candelabra-like arrangement. Not tolerant of the cold so make sure they are not exposed to freezing temperatures. In colder winter climates, they make excellent & interesting indoor/outdoor house plants. Once mature, they are heavy bloomers followed by large purple fruits are easily produced when flowers are cross-pollinated. Individuals are self-sterile. They bloom but produce no fruit.
